Windrose Renewables is a 330 MW Spanish onshore wind portfolio, acquired from Bridgepoint in 2016 (Borawind transaction). This investment was made together with the Corporación Masaveu, a Spanish family-owned business group, and a group of Portuguese investors. This portfolio is composed of two operational assets (La Boga, 280.5 MW and Marmellar, 49.5 MW) and 8 wind farms. It is located in the region of Burgos, North of Madrid and is managed by Exus Management Partners.

At the beginning of 2021 China Three Gorges Europe (CTGE), the largest clean energy group in China and the largest hydropower enterprise in the world, reached an agreement to acquire 100% of Windrose Renewables. The move enhanced CTGE’s presence in Europe in addition to its investments in Portugal, Germany, the UK and Greece while also reinforcing its presence in Spain after the recent acquisition of X-Elio’s portfolio.
